- Participants who have deferred their registration from 2021 to 2023 will receive until September 3rd, an email with access to the 2023 registration platform.

Minimum age for participation in the different races

- To participate in the event athletes must be at least 18 years old in the 16 race and 20 years old to run the remaining races, on the date of 31st of december 2023.

Participants commitments

By registering in MIUT® - Madeira Island Ultra-Trail®, each participant personally agrees to engage in the following:
- I declare that I have read and understood the regulations and ethics of the race (available at www.miutmadeira.com);
- I understand and approve the conditions of participation which figure in the regulation;
- I agree to respect all items of the regulation;
- I agree to scrupulously respect and promote the ethic;
- I agree to be aware of any medical condition which could concern me and, consequently relieve the organisation of any responsibility for any medical problem which may arise during the event due to any negligence on my part;
- I have read, understood and agree that in the case of a false declaration on my ITRA profile, the organisation reserves the right to cancel my registration without refunding the fees paid;
- I agree to the treatment of my personal data as mentioned in the Data Protection;
- I acknowledge that I will receive from the organization, communication whether by correspondence, email, messages or any other electronic communications services, that are essential for my participation in the event and for my safety.

Registration Requirements

- Correctly complete the registration process, on the website indicated by the organization.

Requirements for races MIUT 115, MIUT 85 and MIUT 60

- To register in one of this races, the participant must have finished a trail-running race between 01-01-2018 and participant's registration day. 

- For the race MIUT 115, the participant must have finished a trail-running race with a minimum of 4 ITRA points (International Trail-Running Association).
- For the race MIUT 85, the participant must have finished a trail-running race with a minimum of 2 ITRA points (International Trail-Running Association).
- For the race MIUT 60, the participant must have finished a trail-running race with a minimum of 1 ITRA point (International Trail-Running Association).

- Ir order to verify if the runner has the required ITRA points to register, the runner must indicate it's ITRA ID. More info about ITRA ID please click here.

- Points validation will be done after the participant's registration and within a maximum period of 7 days from the registration date. In the event that the participant does not meet the necessary requirements to participate in the distance for which he or she has registered, the registration will be canceled and 100% of the amount paid will be refunded, except for the bank commission. If the participant indicates an ITRA profile other than his, the Organization will cancel the registration and no refund will be done.

- Participants must download the Medical Certificate from the official event website. After being filled and signed by your doctor this document must be uploaded in participants registration until the 15th of March 2023. Without uploading the Medical Certificate, the participant will not be able to attend the event.

- Entries will be "Pending to Validate" until the Medical Certificate is uploaded and verified it's authenticity.

Requirements for races MIUT 42 and MIUT 16

- Participants do not need to present the Medical Certificate.

- Participants can also indicate their ITRA ID, which will facilitate when uploading the results. 

Requirements for races MIUT 115, MIUT 85, MIUT 42 and MIUT 16

- The Medical Questionnaire is mandatory and must be completed online between April 10th and April 18th, 2023. The link to the Medical Questionnaire will be sent by email.

- The Disclaimer is mandatory for all participants and is accepted by the participant during the registration process.

- Answer MIUT's Economical Impact Questionnaire that will be sent to all participants during April 2023. The questionnaire will be sent by email and should be answered before April 18th, 2023.

Registration process (webpage, payment)

- The web page www.miutmadeira.com will have a link to the registrations platform. Only registrations done on this platform will be accepted.

- Each participant must correctly fill the registration form and pay the corresponding value, being the participant responsible for the accuracy of his data.

- The Organiser is not responsible for eventual liability refusals by the insurance company(ies) due to incorrect information introduced on the registration form by the participant.

- The sucessful payment of the registration fee guarantees a place.

- Payment must be done by payment card, debit or credit.

- After well suceed payment, the name of the participant will appear on the entries list.

- Entries from participants who are punished by their respective federations due to sanctions imposed in the wake of anti-doping controls will not be accepted.

Fees and periods of registration

- The registration period will take place between september 12th, 2022 and February 28th, 2023 (if not sold out before).

- The registration fee covers all services described in this regulation, however it does not include 3.8% (commissions and taxes) on the registration price, which will be charged at the time of payment.

Race Change, Cancel Registration, Transfer Registration and Race Permutation

- No requests will be accepted over the phone. All requests must be sent by email: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

- The organization will not proceed with the "freezing" (postponing) of registrations for future editions.

Race Change

- It is allowed to change to another race, if there are available places in that race until  February 28th, 2023. The change has an administrative fee of € 10.00.

- After February 28th, 2023, changes are not permitted.

- If the change of race is for a race with a higher registration fee, the change will be subject to the payment of the difference in values at the date of the change. If the change is to a race with a lower registration fee, there will be no refund of the difference, but the participant must pay the administrative fee of € 10,00.

Cancel Registration

- The participant may at any time request the cancellation of his registration.

- Given the high costs already incurred by the Organizer with the cancellation of MIUT® 2020 and with the deferral of registrations from April 2021 to April 2023, there will be no refund in the event of cancellation of registration by a participant whose registration has been deferred from 2021.

- Only new paid entrants to the 2023 edition are entitled to a refund under the following conditions:

- When canceling the registration, the participant is no longer entitled to receive the participation kit.

Transfer Registration

- Only participants deferred from 2021 to 2023 can transfer their registration to someone else. The transfer of registration has an administrative cost of €15.00. The deadline to transfer the registration is September 30th, 2022.

- The entire transfer process is coordinated by the organization. The registration holder starts the process by sending an email to the organization (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.), expressing the intention to transfer their registration. Within 5 days the organization will contact the participant to proceed with the transfer process.

Race Permutation

It's not allowed any race permutation between two registered participants in different races.

Event Cancelation or Suspension

- At any time, the Event Organizer may have to cancel or suspend the event, due to bad weather or unsafe conditions, landslides, fire, earthquake, natural disaster, water shortages, power outages, closure of local parks, roads or parts of the route, protests or blockages along the route, riot, strikes, outbreak or escalation of diseases or epidemics or pandemics (including Covid-19), imposing quarantine or banning travel, acts or threats of terrorism, blockages or disorder, other industrial action, civil commotion and any legislation, regulation, decision or omission (including failure to grant any necessary permission) from any government, court, competent national authority or Administrative Body.

- If the cancellation occurs until 22nd of March, the participants (only new paid registrants in 2022/23) will be partially refunded of the amount paid at the time of registration. The amount of reimbursement will be decided in order to allow the organization to cover the expenses already incurred and also the irremediable expenses incurred from the date of cancellation. Participants will be reimbursed as follows:
